Wow, it’s turning into a weekly thing on our GR/Kzoo blog – the Sunday post from the JBF Corporate Blog. This week’s post was so cute, we couldn’t pass it up. And, as I look forward to 28 people in my house for the holiday, something for the little ones to do is a perfect idea. Enjoy!!
With Thanksgiving coming up I want to share with you one of the things I do to keep my kids entertained while home from school during the Thanksgiving holiday. While we all love for our kids to be out of school and getting to spend time with them, it can get a little stressful. Planning Thanksgiving dinner and balancing family coming in while also keeping the kids entertained and out of your hair is difficult.
One way I’ve learned to balance this is by giving them crafting projects to do when I need to focus my attention elsewhere. My favorite craft so far is Thanksgiving placemats. The kids can make these and the use them at the dinner table on Thanksgiving. This can be super easy or a little more in depth. You can simply give your child a piece of paper and markers and let them go at it or you can do what I did.
Check out this site where I got my inspiration:
I went to this website and printed off the costume Thanksgiving placemats. Not only does it keep them entertained while you prepare dinner but it’s fun to see what they come up with. Even cuter, you can save the placemats and have them laminated for future use!
The kids LOVE everything about this idea and so do we. We hope you enjoy this craft as much as we do!
